JJP Dental Practice

JJP Dental was founded by Dr. Janet Refoa D.D.S., D.M.D. in 1984. Dr. Refoa and her practice are unique when compared to most Dental practices. “All Under One Roof”, that is how JJP Dental Practice has been described by local newspapers and Dental specific magazines. All services a patient would require can be delivered at her Beverly Hills practice, reducing the need to constantly check with your insurance carrier to establish your eligibility for each dental procedure and coverage limit. I addition, not having to deal with traffic, parking and waisted time during a business day.

Dr. Refoa employs a staff of highly skilled Dental Practitioners, each expert in their field and all of them provide services under the direction and supervision of Dr. Refoa to ensure your total satisfaction. At JJP Dental, a patient can make an appointment with only one Dental Office and complete all the Dental work required under one roof.

Today is the perfect day to schedule your appointment. Click here to get started (button that takes them to the scheduling calendar)

Frequently Asked Questions

How are your services designed to keep the patient comfortable?
Making your visit comfortable is our first objective. JJP Dental Practice offers conscious sedation, nitrous oxide and oral sedatives when necessary. We also offer music CD’s and television in all operatories stations.

Do you offer Invisalign® Invisible Braces?
Invisalign® uses a series of nearly undetectable aligners instead of brackets and wires. So even up close it’s really hard for people to tell you’re wearing Invisalign.
This new treatment can give you the smile you’ve always wanted without the braces you’ve always avoided. More about Invisalign® Invisible Braces.
If I smoked for years, can whitening help me?
The answer is yes, depending on the amount and type of staining. We use the latest procedures and materials, such as in-office bleaching and veneers to help you achieve a radiant smile. But, if whitening does not work, porcelain veneers will allow you to have the beautiful smile you have always wanted.
Is it a problem if my gums to bleed when I brush?
In many cases bleeding gums are a sign of gingivitis or periodontal disease. But keep in mind, other conditions may make your gums bleed also. We suggest a comprehensive oral exam and cleaning. Our specialist will give you an excellent home care program helping you to get your gums back in healthy shape.
Do you offer implants and do the look and last as long as my real teeth?
Yes, we specialize in implants BUT Dr. Refoa will do all she can to first save you real tooth. Implants look exactly like your real teeth and they work by mimicking the structure of natural teeth. What most people do not know, like natural teeth, dental implants are secured in the jawbone. Properly installed dental implants become firmly embedded in the jaw, providing a chewing surface like that of natural teeth and can last for many years just like your regular teeth.
Implants can replace one tooth or multiple teeth depending on the circumstance. For many, dental implants offer the smile they never had. Cosmetically they are a great option along with Veneers. Please ask our doctors about the different options JJP Dental has available for your smiling needs.
What is Teeth Grinding? Will Teeth grinding give me a headache.?
I have been told I grind my teeth when I sleep and sometimes I realize I am doing it when I am awake. Could this be the reason I get headaches when I wake up and sometimes during the day?
It is very possible, consistent Teeth grinding can cause pain. It is not unusual to experience headaches when you wake or during the day when you feel stressed and pressured. Additional issues can be a sore neck, and sore muscles in your face and sometimes around your temples. The Dentist at JJP will assist you with overcoming these kinds of issues and discomfort. You do not need to live with these issues, our doctors can make a splint for you that will minimize or remove this problem altogether.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we do. For those without insurance we have different financial options available to make your visit and wallet more comfortable.

Can poor Oral Health Cause Heart Disease”
Believe it or not, Heart disease may begin in your mouth. Reports from researchers at Columbia University Medical Center and other major medical centers have clearly identified poor oral health can be an influencer for Heart Disease. In a study of 657 adults, they took samples of oral plaque and measured carotid artery thickness, and indication of atherosclerosis. What they found: Those with the highest levels of bacteria that cause gum disease had the thickest arteries. Previous research has suggested a link between oral health and Heart Disease, but this is the first study to go inside the mouth and actually measure the number of bacteria.
